Dual Degree Program with Tepper School of Business

The dual Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering (MSCEE) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program is a 2.5 year (5 semester) program which starts in the fall semester each year. It is designed for students with B.S. degrees in engineering and offers the opportunity to develop technical and managerial skills in the management of civil and environmental engineering organizations, projects and systems, as well as business management. This program is offered by the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department of the Carnegie Institute of Technology (CIT) and the Tepper School of Business.

  • applicants should send an application to both departments
  • applicants must satisfy the admission requirements of the MBA and MSCEE programs
  • application deadline is the same as for regular master's programs
  • applicants are required to take both the Graduate Management Admissions test and the Graduate Record Examination
  • dual degree students must take a minimum of 168 units of MBA courses (96 units of required courses and 72 units of electives) and 84 units in CEE (36 units of required CEE courses and 48 units of electives, 24 of which must be CEE courses). Courses offerings follow.
  • the program is designed so that student spend their first year at Tepper, their second year in CEE, and last semester at Tepper
